Results

Measured against the index acceptance specification for the non-peptide adjuncts class. A specification is a decision the index made; a result is a measurement. See where each threshold came from.

Chromatogram and peak integration

The figure is drawn from the table. It is not an independent illustration — if a number in the table changed, the trace would change with it.

Figure 1. RP-HPLC trace, 25 min gradient, 214 nm. Drawn from the peak-integration table below: peak positions are the reported retention times, peak areas are the reported area percentages, peak widths follow the reported plate count of 61,721, and skew follows the reported asymmetry factor of 1.11. Baseline noise is seeded from the report ID and is illustrative. The lower panel is the same trace at a stated vertical expansion with the slow gradient drift subtracted, because at full scale a 0.43 % impurity against a 99.17 % main peak is a line two pixels tall; the main peak runs off-scale there by design.

Reporting threshold 0.05 % area. Peaks below it are not reported and are therefore excluded from the total, which overstates purity by their sum — see peak integration.

Mass spectrum and identity

Theoretical monoisotopic mass 285.9967 Da, computed from C10H11N2+ · I−. All ppm figures on this site are against monoisotopic values — see why that matters.

Sodium (+21.982/z) and potassium (+37.956/z) adducts are shown where the parent charge state exceeds 25 % relative abundance; they are adducts of the same molecule and are not impurities.

Gravimetric mass balance

Water, counter-ion, residual and total peptide content are exhaustive and mutually exclusive categories. They must account for 100 % of the cake mass. The index closes this to within 0.02 pp and the build asserts it.

Provenance and caveats

Where a sample came from changes the weight of the evidence. The index treats it as a first-class field.

Sample provenance
Laboratory-retained
Evidentiary weight
Provenance documented, selection uncontrolled.

Annotations 4

Signed technical comments from index contributors. Not a discussion forum — annotations question or contextualise the result, and the data team replies where a reply is warranted.

ppm_error
+12.3 ppm is outside the class limit and outside what a calibrated instrument should produce at this mass. Before anyone reads it as a compound difference: calibration drift on Medutest's side is far more likely. The chromatography is normal and retention at 4.55 min is where 5-Amino-1MQ belongs.
Index data team

Recorded as an identity-not-established finding rather than an identity failure, per rule AX-R01. A re-measurement has been requested from the submitter.

mass_defect
Mass-defect reasoning narrows this quickly. Very few plausible modifications of 5-Amino-1MQ would produce a shift in the direction and magnitude observed, and the ones that would are all in the named-impurity table.
schema_v2
The dataset stores signed ppm error, so the direction survives into the CSV. Anyone aggregating absolute values should take the modulus explicitly rather than relying on the field.
one_directional
Direction is the thing to watch, not roundness. Rounded declarations in this index sit above and below the independent median at close to equal rates, which is what scatter looks like.
