On compounds where a single supplier is the entire evidence base, refusing supplier-supplied material would mean publishing nothing. The index publishes it and labels it, which is the lesser of the two failures.
The result is published in full and weighted the same as any other in the raw dataset. Down-weighting happens in the sensitivity analyses, transparently, rather than silently at intake.
Where this is the only record on a compound, the index says so on the compound page rather than reporting a median over one observation. Provenance is the second caveat there, not the first.
Purity 98.90 %, water 10.33 %, mass balance closed. The measurements are what they are; the provenance qualifies how far they generalise, not whether they are correct.
Every headline figure on the corresponding scorecard survives restriction to buyer-sourced records. That sensitivity analysis is published on the scorecard and it is the reason this record can be included at all.
The comparison worth funding is a paired one on the same lot code, same week, one vial from each channel. Two tests, and the answer is unambiguous for that lot.
